Dental Assisting Program

Graduates of this program will be qualified to serve as dental assistants in both large and small dentist offices. Dental assistants help dentists by preparing patients, setting up equipment, keeping patient records, processing dental x-rays, and other duties.

Admission Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred, completed high school science course.

Curriculum

900 hours of instruction and clinicals

Contractual Enrollment with Virginia Highlands Community College

Credentials

Certified Dental Assistant (DANB)

Potential Occupations

Dental Assistant, Orthodontic Assistant, Periodontal Assistant

Average Annual Salary:$17,000 to $27,000
